About

Introduction

Welcome to the Bowdoin Animation Society, Brunswick’s place for anime fans!

The BAS is a fairly young club here at Bowdoin, but we have taken it upon ourselves to create someplace that will fulfill all the expectations one would have for a typical anime club. From weekly showings, a growing library that is free to student members, and even organized convention trips, we have everything an anime fan could need. New to or not a fan of anime? All good! While we mostly watch anime, we’re open to all forms of animation, whether that’s Japanese, Western…you name it!

Since the club is still young, it is ever changing and expanding. Feel free to check us out, whether you are a long time anime fan, or just someone who is curious as to what we are all about. We are always glad to have new people and new voices. Come on by and get a taste of the Bowdoin anime experience!

Library

The club’s library consists of personal anime collections, Bart and Greg’s DVD collection, and the power of the internet.

Additionally, Bowdoin’s Library Media Commons in the basement of HL Library houses several DVDs that have contributed to BAS’ library in the past. It is open to all students. The following series are owned by the LMC:
