…….The primary goal of the BCFS Google Reader Project is to provide students with a convenient way to stay engaged with current events and to facilitate discussion throughout the week.

……. Google Reader is a tool that automatically checks news sites and blogs for new content, and it organizes that content into a single interface.

…….We’ve found Google Reader to be a fantastic resource for getting a quick read on the news — including the latest updates from our own Finance Society website. To make it easier to get started, we’ve created an organized list of resources that you can import into your Google Reader interface.

1. Create A Google Account
   

   Firstly, you will need to create a Google account. If you do not currently have one, please Contact Us and we’ll send you an invitation to join. Once you’ve registered with Google, it’s easy to get up to speed with Google Reader.

2. Download Our Starter Pack
   

   Click Here to download the Starter Pack file to your desktop.

3. Import Our Starter Pack
   

   Now you’ll just need to import the file into your Google Reader. Visit www.google.com/reader. In the upper-right corner of the page, click the gear icon () followed by the Reader Settings menu. From Reader Settings, click the Import/Export tab. Import the file you downloaded to your desktop earlier.

Quick Browsing Tips:

- In the top-right corner of your reader, click List view instead of Expanded view.

– Try playing with the following Google Reader shortcut keys: “n”, “p”, “o”, “v”, “u”, “shift + n”, “shift + p”, “shift + o”.
