Many states offer the option to register to vote online, in person, or by mail. On the U.S. Election Assistance Commission website, go to the Online Voter Registration tab to find information about whether or not your state accepts online registration.
Some states do not offer online registration, so you have to register in person or by mail (AR, ME, MS, MT, NH, NJ, ND, NC, SD, TX, WY). If you are registering in one of these states, then you will have to print out and mail in a registration form or go to your town clerk’s office in person.
In both cases, you can go to the Voter Info tab and click on your state to find information about registration deadlines and a link to register. Another option is to go to vote.org and register to vote through their online portal.
