Fundraising and Philanthropy means donating or raising funds and resources for nonprofits & other non-governmental organizations that engage in work that contributes to the public good.
- The McKeen Center’s Common Good Grant program teaches allows Bowdoin students to take part in the philanthropic process from beginning to end. Working in committees, students solicit donations from donors to be added to a base grant, then distribute the funds to local non-profits by soliciting and evaluating grant proposals.
- Bowdoin Dance Marathon is a student-led service club overseen by the McKeen Center, in which students organize a range of fundraisers throughout the year to support the Children’s Miracle Network.
- Finding a job with Bowdoin’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations can also be a way to get hands-on experience in this field.
