passes<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Agenda to Vote (to be voted on next week)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2324\u20138: Creation of a BSG Award to honor uncommon contributions to BSG\u2019s work<\/li>\n<li>2324-9: Mundo\u2019s; $600 to Student Affairs; 30 copies of <i>Yara<\/i> and 30 copies of <i>Minor Detail<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Student Belonging Survey \u2013 Marcus Gadsden \u201824<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Student Belonging Survey is trying to gauge how race, gender, the student\/athlete divide, and social scenes (among other things_ attribute to a sense of belonging on campus<\/li>\n<li>The Office of Inclusion and Diversity plans to release the survey mid-February<\/li>\n<li>Res Life, BSG, and AOCC will have access to survey results;<\/li>\n<li>They are trying to provide as much info as possible to students \u2013 want transparency<\/li>\n<li>Many of the questions will be student-generated<\/li>\n<li>There will be an info session about the survey held in December<\/li>\n<li>The survey will be sent out every 3 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Senior Vice President for Inclusion and Diversity &#8211; Benje Douglas<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Benje enjoys working with students because of the campus connections that can be made<\/li>\n<li>You can be in touch with Benje about the survey\n<ul>\n<li>Aim for higher than 86% success rate<\/li>\n<li>Working closely with students helped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>He works to create opportunities for students and staff to have best experience possibility\n<ul>\n<li>Barriers to success can be complicated or obvious, and his job is to acknowledge and hopefully remove them for students<\/li>\n<li>He takes acts of discrimination seriously and thoroughly investigate them<\/li>\n<li>Hopes to create a sense of belonging<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>To Benje, belonging means that a person has a few places on campus where others are happy to see them and care about what they have to say<\/li>\n<li>Fun is important for affinity groups, and it is key to having hard conversations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Initiatives the Office of I&amp;D is working on:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Student Belonging Survey<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Employee support \u2013 employee resource group, parenting, queer employees, employees of
