About

Join us at our meetings every Tuesday at 7pm in the 24 College Garage! New faces are always welcome.

BQSA is a student-led organization that plans social events, promotes LGBTQIA activism, and creates educational programming on Bowdoin’s campus and in the greater community. Our meetings focus on planning and discussion of current events. We strive to create safe spaces on campus for queer students and their allies. Students of all genders and sexual orientations are welcome to attend meetings and events.

BQSA welcomes people from all walks of life and does not discriminate based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, religion, class, age, beliefs or physical/mental ability.

Events in the past have included sponsoring speakers, hosting parties, creating panels and programming for OUTtober, organizing Yellow Shirt Day, organizing poster campaigns for Trans Day of Visibility and a vigil for Trans Day of Remembrance, and attending conferences such as First Event in Marlboro, MA.
