Eli&#8217;s difficult youth inspired the name of America&#8217;s favorite punk pop band, Bowling For Soup. Their song &#8216;BFFF&#8217; was actually written about Eli because of his devoted fanship. His poem &#8220;My Only Friends Have Spiky 90s Hair&#8221; is tattooed on the back of each band member.
