Katie: opportunity for civic engagement fellowship for next year. Open to high school and college students. Looking for proposals that tie to the community. Not a program we would run but have seen peer schools tap into it. Would be great for students here to connect to them. Deadline is May 28th.
Elliott: Ivies will be at Bruns on Saturday. Worked really hard to make this happen. One of things that the school asked of us is to deliver letters to those who live near Bruns.
ELECTION EMAIL PROPOSAL
Blake: Last week we discussed the definition of mass emailing. If we take the clause out altogether, that leaves a lot of gray area. A different engagement with Instagram. Proposes prohibiting campaigning through mass email completely
[MOTION TO END DEBATE ON THIS AT 9:20]
[MOTION PASSES WITH ⅔ VOTE]
Max: Agrees
Eisa: Spoke with Nate, and it’s actually against College policy to campaign this way.
Elliott: Not about fairness to me, but about how easy it is to spam people
[PROPOSAL PASSES WITH ⅔ VOTE]
Eisa: Will go ahead to add to document that no emailing is allowed and add small explanation of why and how we reached this decision
Passing of the gavel from Eisa Rafat to Alex Kruse
Eisa: It is up to you individually to decide what you want the BSG to be.
