Review of TFC Guidelines & Discussion
- Adjustments
- Reframing club bonding budget
- New event food budget
- Cut to kickoff event funding
- Guideline for official subgroups
- Concern from club leader about a meeting with the TFC. Felt uncomfortable having to justify events, especially when cultural or affinity based, to other people. Don’t feel represented by the TFC when their affinity group may make up only 6% of the student body. Maybe affinity groups should be held to a different standard than say chess club
- Raises questions about the budget process; how affinity groups should receive funding; future amendments to the guidelines
- Concerns about food budget not being enough to cover larger events
- TFC can always use discretion. The guidelines are just a framework
- Concerns about the cut to kickoff events. Affinity events are important, especially for first years
TCC Guideline Revisions
- TCC does not have data on club events
- Working to change this with post-event evaluation forms
- Comments
- Concerns about this form asking too much of club leaders, too many hoops for them to jump through
- Maybe a form with just name of event, point person, whether funding was requested
- As a club leader, it feels like this isn’t truly designed for our benefit. Feels like an opportunity to use data as justification for saying no in the future
- Sees it as an opportunity to have feedback
- This will not be reviewed/used by the TFC. Used for the TCC to help with funding
- Motion to table discussion on TCC. This conversation will be pushed to the next money
Voting on TFC Guidelines
- Clarifying edits (club categorization of “competitive club”; competitive conferences; competitive club banquets; other small clerical edits) PASS
- Adjustments
- Cutting event budget from $1500 to $1000 DOES NOT PASS
- Amtrak and buses are explicitly denied so clubs must get van certified PASSES
- Subgroup funding up to TFC discretion PASSES
- Restructuring of bonding and event food DOES NOT PASS 14:8:4
