The following positions are open for the Fall 2013 election cycle.

Elected Positions

  • First-year Class Council (CC)

    • Class Representative to the General Assembly (2)
  • Senior Class Council (CC)
    • President

    • Class Representative to the General Assembly (2)

Appointed Positions

  • Representative At-Large (GA), 6 positions, appointed by the Executive Committee
  • Representative for the McKeen Center (GA), 1 position, appointed by the Executive Committee
  • Community Outreach Officers (CC, first-year and senior classes), at least one per class, appointed by the newly-elected Class Councils
  • Bowdoin Student Government Staff (GA), appointed by the Executive Committee
    Positions include but are not limited to

    • Secretary (paid)
    • Director of Operations (unpaid)
    • Director of Programming (unpaid)

  • Information Sessions
    • Monday, 9 Sept at 8pm in Hubbard Conference Room West
    • Friday, 13 Sept (time TBA) in Mass Hall – Faculty Rm
    • All candidates for election and appointments must attend one of these information sessions. If these times do not work for you, please email [email protected] to schedule a makeup session.
  • Petitions & Signed Election Rules Agreement Due
    • Thursday, 19 Sept at 5pm
    • Smith Union Info Desk
  • Campaigning (Class Council positions only)
    • Begin: Monday, 23 Sept at 8am
    • End: Sunday, 29 Sept at 8pm
    • Please remember to follow all campaign rules and regulations.
  • Candidacy Statements Due (Class Council positions only): 100-200 words.
    • Tuesday, 24 Sept at 8pm
    • Emailed to Allen Wong Yu ([email protected])
    • Limit of 200 words, these statements will be published on our website, the election website, and The Orient.
  • Elections (Class Council positions only)
    • Begin: Friday, 27 Sept at 8am
    • End: Sunday, 29 Sept at 8pm
    • Elections held online at bowdoin.edu/vote
    • Candidates will be emailed the results shortly after the polls close. An hour after that email is sent, the results (including the exact vote counts) will be released to The Orient.
  • Applications Due (Appointed positions only)
    • Wednesday, 2 Oct at 5pm
    • Applications will be available shortly on our website: bsg.bowdoin.edu
  • Interviews Conducted (Appointed positions only)

Over $20

  • 8.5″ x 11″ BW: $0.05/copy
  • 8.5″ x 11″ Color: $0.20/copy
  • 11″ x 17″ BW: $0.10/copy
  • 11″ x 17″ Color: $0.25/copy

General Information

  • Each candidate will be given $10 to be used at the Copy Center. Should a candidate go above the $10, he or she would be responsible for the costs personally.
  • Turnover time is 24 hours – please plan ahead of time. Plan also for the number of copies you plan to make so you submit your order together.
  • Please abide by the Elections Rules & Regulations and Bowdoin’s Academic Honor and Social Code.
