Fleet & Facilities

The Steinwachs Family Boathouse, dedicated on October 3, 2025, sits on the tidal New Meadows River, 4.5 miles from the Bowdoin College campus. The boathouse is complemented by a 110′ long dock which allows us to launch or retrieve 2 eights and a four, or 5 fours simultaneously.

Our dock is about 10 miles (~16K meters) from the Atlantic Ocean. The New Meadows River provides 3000 meters of very protected water, before opening up into a larger bay with both protected coastal waters and an open channel. The majority of our practices take us approximately 4 miles towards the ocean and include a 2k and 5k course.

Directions to the boathouse are available here.
