Our Coach

Renae Kachnovich began coaching the Bowdoin Equestrian Team in the fall of 2023. As head trainer of Sassy Strides Equestrian, Renae has over 10 years of experience working and riding at top hunter/jumper show barns. She prides herself on offering top-class care and training. In her junior years, Renae competed in jumpers and eventing until she gained her professional status in 2015, bringing along her mare, Paprika, to compete in open 1.35m jumpers as a pro. Renae’s newest upper-level prospect, Jumping Treasure “Eve,” is next in line to take her place.

In her years of professional riding, Renae has traveled up and down the east coast, from Wellington, Florida to Maine, showing in “AA” shows and winning along the way. Training with Olympic Event rider Mike Huber, Grand Prix Show Jumpers Zoubair Bennani & Anna Gansauser, Meredith O’Connell, and more, Renae continues to learn from the best and is excited to pass her knowledge and expertise down to the next generation of riders.

“We, as riders and horsemen, always have room for growth and learning. It all starts with the right environment and a great support system.”
