Welcome back for the 2009-2010 school year. Check out our High Holiday schedule on the calendar page.
Bowdoin Hillel is both a religious and social organization that serves as a source of Jewish life, community, culture, and tradition to students, faculty, staff, and members of the MidCoast Maine community.

The Hillel offers a wide-ranging schedule of Jewish activities on an otherwise very hectic and secular campus. This includes an extensive Rabbi-led service schedule for the High Holidays on campus (Reform), Shabbat dinners, Sukkah building, club-wide Chinese-food buffet dinners, holiday parties, Jewish
movie nights, speakers, and many other events. In affiliation with the local synagogue in Bath (an unaffiliated, egalitarian and inclusive congregation), students teach Hebrew School, tutor B’nai Mitzvah candidates, and participate in community services within the Mid-Coast Maine and Greater Portland areas. The Hillel and the Harry Spindel Memorial Lectureship also bring a variety of speakers to Bowdoin each year on Judaic Studies and Contemporary Jewish affairs.
Check the calendar to see what’s happening on campus this semester. If you would like more information or would like to join our mailing list,
We hope this website answers any questions you might have.
We also have a PDF of a pamphlet about Bowdoin College Hillel that might be of interest
