High Holidays at Bowdoin College, Fall 2023/5784
Jewish students will mark two of the most important holidays in the Jewish calendar over the next few weeks. Rosh Hashanah marks the start of the Jewish New Year and the beginning of a 10-day period of repentance; the traditional greeting is shanah tovah or “happy new year!” The 10 day period, known as the “Days of Awe,” concludes with Yom Kippur, a day of strict fasting known as “the Day of Atonement.”
All are welcome to attend these upcoming holiday events sponsored by Bowdoin Hillel. Note: RSVP required for meals; seating is limited.
