NESCAC + Boston Student Government Summit (Interest Form)

  • Tufts is hosting a NESCAC + Boston Student Government Summit on Friday, March 22nd
  • There are inviting 10 people from BSG
  • An interest form will be sent out – trying to get those who are most interested, as well as people from each class year

New Drop-in Hours

  • 2–3pm Monday–Friday
  • 4:30–5:30pm Monday–Friday
  • Starting week of 2/5

Proposals

Proposal 2024–1: New SAFC Guidelines

  • Danielle Lancaster, Chair of the SAFC
  • Major amendments include:
    • Kickoffs must occur before Fall Break and be submitted for in the spring
    • Only $1500 of the kickoff costs will be covered before it comes out of their own budgets
    • Regarding travel, only postseason ticket requests will be granted
    • The covered hotel price rose from $119 to $200
  • Alex: How often are these guidelines reviewed?
    • Danielle: Every year
  • Eisa: Many clubs experience leadership issues, including that their board is not fully formed before summer; can the SAFC better accommodate that?
    • Kaya: Had this experience with Active Minds
    • Danielle: If clubs need something like a $50 snack budget approved, can be done without the whole SAFC having met yet
  • Paul: Adding a clause to SAFC guidelines saying clubs can request marginal sums of money before SAFC convenes may be beneficial, as would doing some outreach/information sessions in the spring
  • Will make and go over small changes that reflect today’s conversation then vote next meeting (2/7)
